Maintenance of wooden railings

Wooden handrails can lose their colour over time, but if they are coated with oil they can be easily renewed. This work is not complicated and you can renew them yourself. Simply lightly sand the wooden handrail with fine-grained sandpaper and apply oil in the same or similar colour. Wipe off any excess oil after five minutes.

Other parts of the handrail, such as the metal tubes, do not require any special maintenance and are usually powder coated.

If metal railings are used outdoors and slight scratches appear, they should be coated with rust binder and a metal primer should be applied.
